Is the Zoo educational because the animals can be observed vividly? All children can observe vividly is the poor zoo environment. My childhood memories of watching the news of animal abuse at my favorite zoo still remain a haunting shock. If someone had told me that animal abuse was happening in the zoo, I wouldn't have been so happy watching the animals. I would have been able to judge for myself that animals are supposed to live with us, and develop empathy by finding out what negative effects zoos have on animals. Therefore, zoos are simply places that demonstrate human animal-dominant ideasin a transparent manner, but are not places that are positive educational.
