The World Health Organization has stated in their Q&A sessions that they expect development to game addiction by classifying it as a disease. Also, from your essay, we can see that as the technologies and game industry develops, more and more people are addicted to games. Especially, the percentage of children who plays games too much make majority from the students who don't play games too much. It seems that treatment and regulation are truly needed. To do that, I think game addiction should be classified as a disease. Thus, not only eye health, but other problems can tag along. For example, game addiction carry the risk of depression, ADHD, ,and not being able to focus on other things. Also, game addiction cause lack of sleep and exercise. For these reasons, I also claim that game addiction should be classified as a disease.

First of all, you said that game addiction can have negative consequences, but it doesn't only have negative effects. Rather, a study found that video games have significant effects on cognitive development such as perceptual motor skills and strategic thinking. Second, registering game addiction as a disease may lead to effective management, but the criteria for "addiction" are not clear, which can lead to more problems. This can hurt people who enjoy games with simple leisure activities, such as watching movies and listening to songs. Since so many people enjoy games that it is hard to see people who don't play games, I think social confusion is also great. I'd like to know what you think of these aspects.
