1821 장혜원 I have an agreement that game addiction is just like drugs. As you've mentioned in your essay, game addiciton will cause the addict person to feel unpleasant when they are not playing games. IF one does not feel pleasant doing other activites, it is most likely that he/she will engage in game only, while putting other activites behind. Also, WHO has classified game addiction as disease because the symptoms and consequences of game addiction matches the definition of 'disease'. These are the reasons why I also claim that game addiction should be classified as a disease.

1815 이여정 Thank you for supporting my opinion. Games don't matter if you play as much as you can control, but you're addicted to them most of the time because you can't control them, and things like drugs happen. The reason why game addiction has not yet become a disease seems to be due to complaints from game companies.

I cannot agree with some of your basis which is saying that game is just like a drug and it has tolerance. "If you can't control use of the game on your own, use of game affect your daily life, the time to use games doesn't decrease even if the game produces negative results, and this situation lasts over 12month, we can consider it as a game addiction." This is the definition of game written by WHO. As you can see, it is saying nothing about tolerance or hallucinations. Like this case, many reserches which are saying game causes aggression are not saying same words. It means that scientific exploration about game is not enough to prove its danger. If we treat something as a disease, at least we need solid basis proves that it has high danger. Basis about game's toxicity are not scientific enough.

1815 이여정 I think your rebuttal is reasonable. But I still support the idea that game addiction is like drugs. Games and drugs were classified into four major evils in the addiction forum.
