(1213송영인)Though your essay has quite logical basis, I can't agree with your opinion. You mentioned the research of WHO in your essay, so I searched for internet how they are defining game addiction. WHO said that "If you can't control use of the game on your own, use of game affect your daily life, the time to use games doesn't decrease even if the game produces negative results, and this situation lasts over 12month, we can consider it as a game addiction." Their research didn't consider about things like tolerance(내성), withdrawal symptoms(금단증상) which addicted substance like drug or gambling usually have, so if you put any word like studying or exercising instead of game, we can consider it as a disease. According to this research, we have to consider a person who love exercising and goes gym every day as a mental patient and regulate exercising with some laws. As we can see in this case, some researches about game are not based on scientific basis enough, so we must not trust all of them. But many people are trusting such researshes or surveies and say that we should treat game as a disease. I think their attitude is nonsense.

1821 장혜원 I'd say that ideas shown in your essay are well found and very specific. Before reading your essay, I thought that one of the problems that had to be fixed before classifiying as game addiction was the declination of game industry. However, your essay has taught me that the entire gaming industry will not fall. That claim was supported by persuasive and concrete basis. Also, treating game addiction need more social attention, indeed. I think that by classifying game addiction as disease, it could help to gain more interest and alert people of game addiction. So I want to add that by classifying game addiction as disease, it will eventually bring positivie effects. Especially, the classification and regulation of game addiction will help game addicted students to gain back their passion to focus on academic works. As you've mentioned in your essay, game addiction causes irreversible consequences. So, I believe that classifying game addiction as disease will also contribute to reducing the chances of those consequences. After reading your essay, I could repeat that game addiction should be classified as disease.
