[1525 전하은]I have an agreement in some of your bases, but not entirely. In my opinion, your point of view is limited to game addicts only. Of course, I do not suppose that your approach to the subject is wrong, but I want to approach the issue from the perspective of people who are not game addicts and like to play games as a hobby at the same time. If game addiction is classified as a disease, such people will be constantly criticized by their surroundings' suspicion that they might be game addicts. By approaching from a different standpoint, I object to categorizing game addiction as a disease.

1821 장혜원) I can see that your approach has a point. I admit that classifying game addiction might arouse negative suspicions to innocent game players who are not addicts, however the prevention and early treatment of game addiction should be put in prioirty over inconvenience. For thsoe, who only enjoy game as a hobby, it might feel like their right to play game freely is being violated, but I think that classifying game addiction as a disease t is the right thing to do to protect one's right as game addiction result in the loss of self control. Classifying game addiction will lead to the the way to decrese the possibility of people being addicted to games. Game addicted people are not addicted from the first time they play game. Rather as they keep on playing it as a hobby, it takes a part in their life before they are aware of it. Therefore, preventing these people from the possibility of game addicton and providing proper care since early signs are the necessary things that have to be carried out. For these reasons, I argue that game addiciton should be classified as disease.

(1213송영인)Though your essay has some rational basis, I can't agree with it entirely. You said that If we categorize game addiction as a disease, the patients who addicted to game can get proper treatment by professionals. But it is not true. It's because definition of game addiction is not clear. As you mentioned in your essay, WHO is defining game addiction as "If you can't control use of the game on your own, use of game affect your daily life, the time to use games doesn't decrease even if the game produces negative results, and this situation lasts over 12month, we can consider it as a game addiction." It is not detailed enough, so if we put anything like exercising or studying, it can also be considered as an addiction. And it means that if korea follows WHO's manual and categorize game addiction as a disease, specific part of game addiction which is not mentioned in the manual will depend on psychiatrists's(정신과 의사) judgement. But there is a possibility that they will not judge fairly. Because the more game addiction patients are made, the more money psychiatrists will earn. They can change the standard of game addiction at their disposal. So we need more clear definition of game addiction and scientific basis that game has danger to categorize it as a disease.

1821 장혜원) I agree that your arguement has a reaonsable point, however I still believe that game addiciton should be classified as disease. As you've mentioned, it is ture that game addiction's symptoms are not clearly defined right now and it could be said that the psychiartirst's subjective opionion might have something to do with the diagnosis of game addiction. But, I argue that we cannot deny the classification of game addiction as a disease just because there is a possibility that some doctors will violate ethical standards. It is possible that some doctors might make wrong use of this classification, however this applies to other mental disorders as well and it is still just a possibility that we cannot be sure of. If we classify game addiction as disease, it will contribute to the development of proper care. Although there would be possibilities of making wrong use of this classification, I think that there will be more beneficial results and these possibiilities are not worth denying this classification. I admit that classifying game addiciton might bring negative results in some areas. However, I claim that most of things have double-sideness and in this case, I think that this classification will bring more positive results than the opposite.

I sympathize with your argument that a social verdict that classifies game addiction as a disease can help cure. Because the more people are aware of it, the more robust the system will become. I thought your example helped me understand better in the same vein. Also, it was impressive to focus on the bad points of addiction rather than rooting out the game itself. As a result, I totally agree with you.

1821 장혜원 Thank you for reading my essay. I hope it was helpful to you. I believe that game itself is not bad,but it is the addiction that should be classified as a disease. Thus, it is important to note that studies suggest that just because a child games for three hours a day doesn't mean they're addicted. In other words, game addiction ,as a disease, applies to people who suffers from negative effects of game such as health and mental issues. Therefore, classifying gmae addiction as a disease does not mean that it will classify all the game players as addicts.

1810 양어진 I agree with you.
Game addiction should be considered a disease.
As you said, game addiction can cause serious health problems for people. Especially, I agree that playing too much games reduces exercise and sleep time. In fact, my cousin likes to play games so much that he has sleeping patterns such as sleeping late at night and getting up late in the morning. I think game addiction worsened my cousin's eyesight and changed his sleep pattern, such as playing games late at night. Therefore, I think game addiction should be classified as a disease and thus a quick alternative and treatment should be prepared

1821 장혜원 My cousin also plays games too much. I could see that he sometimes has a conflict with his mother because of excessive gaming. I agree with you that by classifying game addiction as a disease, it will help to reduce excessive gaming as well as problems happening because of it. I hope that this classification would bring positive and confident outcomes to prevent and treat game addiction properly.

1815 이여정 I agree that a social verdict that classifies game addiction as a disease can help treat game addiction. If society perceives game addiction as a disease, people may feel more serious about it and be able to get treatment or control themselves.

1821 장혜원 I think that classification of game addiction as a disease will let addicts see the seriousness of their condition and motivate them to get proper treatment. Also, it could help to prevent game addiction as people will be awared that it is a classified disease.

1807 박채니 I like the example you prepared. I could feel the seriousness through Iowa university's research data that shows game addiction may cause depression, anxiety disorder, social phobias and ADHD. And also I was impressed with example of parents and children that proves game addiction has a bad effect on one's social life. I realized the game addiction ruin one's life as a whole. So I agree with your argument.

1821 장혜원) Thank you for reading my essay. I read your essay and your essay has great structures as well. Game addiction could, in deed, contribute to unbalance in one's life. The more and more people get addicted to games, they will put other things behind them which will eventually lead to negative consequences. In addiction, if people only focus on virtual world, it is likely that they will have troubles and feel awkward in real life situations. It seems that it is possible to mistake virtual world fromr reality, and this state of unstable mental health could lead to dangerous situations.

[1715 이다현] Your opinion that game addiction can worsen parents' relationship with their children is valid. And ADHD(Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) in your opinion is a serious mental illness. According to Korean Academy of Pediatrics and Youth Psychiatry, people with ADHD are six times more likely to commit suicide than ordinary people. To prevent more people from getting this disease, game addiction should be classified as a disease.

이다현 :
1821 장혜원 The studies from the University of Iowa has shown that game addiction worsens mental disorders. As you've mentioned, another study shows that those mental disorders could lead to another problems. So I think that the negative consequences of game addiction could, in fact, circulate. I belive that for these reasons game addiction should be classified as disease and taken seriously as it is now an inevitable social problem. However, it could be prevented and treated by this classification and regulations as well. This is why I argue that game addiction should be classified as a disease for our community.
